My name is Lindsay Powelson (she/her), MA, LPC, LCPC, NCC, CCTP-II, CSTIP. I graduated from Lindenwood University with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in 2004. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri since 2006 through the State of Missouri Committee for Professional Counselors #2004024728 MO, and through the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2023 #03464 KS. I am a National Board Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level II and Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional. I hold full membership with WPATH. I have worked in the mental health field for over 18 years.

I provide therapy for women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those from historically marginalized racial and ethnic communities, offering an affirming space to heal from trauma, manage anxiety and depression, and navigate life’s challenges. My practice is grounded in cultural humility, intersectional understanding, and a deep respect for the unique strengths each client brings. I work exclusively with these communities and provide trusted referrals for those whose needs fall outside my scope.

Therapy is a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and life challenges in a supportive environment. Our work together will involve meaningful conversations, but it will also include practical strategies and tools designed to help you manage emotions, improve relationships, and build personal strength. This approach is collaborative, you set the pace and priorities, and I provide guidance, education, and encouragement to help you reach your goals. Therapy is not just about talking; it’s about creating real change that empowers you to live more fully and authentically.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth.

Our sessions are a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings openly. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on in your life and in your relationships, with compassion and without judgment. But this isn’t just talking , it’s a collaborative process where I’ll also offer information, tools, and practical strategies to help you better understand yourself and your situation. We’ll work on building your strengths, setting healthy boundaries, and developing skills to manage difficult emotions and interactions. My goal is to support you in finding clarity, reclaiming your voice, and making choices that feel right for you. This therapy is focused on healing, growth, and real-life change, not just conversation. You’re in charge of the pace and focus, and I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
